Worthless...
By M. Barnett
Briggs and Stratton reinvented the wheel with a square. There is nothing good I can say about this gas can and I cannot say enough bad things about this gas can. The spout is a piece of crap. It will take you 15 minutes to figure out how to get gas to come out, and when you do, it dispenses at a rate of about 1 gallon every 10 seconds (NO LIE!). This is great, except it leaks everywhere and dispenses most of it on your hand.
This seems like a great idea, BUT a regular gas can works perfectly fine. Save time, money, and frustration...DO NOT BUY THIS. I am thankful I bought this at a local retailer and I swiftly returned this gas can. This product is so worthless I felt obligated to post a review on Amazon.

Leaks
By Hal Eckhart
Alright, here's a third stab at this horrible gas can. It leaks. The rubber seal I mentioned below was NOT mis-installed. It doesn't matter how you install it, because the force of screwing the nozzle back on the can will push the seal out of whack and whoopee! Gasoline everywhere.
I've spilled more gas filling and emptying two of these cans (yes, I'm a genius) once than I have it the past 30 years.
It will be a cold day in you know where before I buy anything Briggs & Stratton makes again.
----------------
After posting the complaint below, I had another look at it. As far as I can tell, most of the dribbling issue is caused by incompetent assembly by B&S. There's a black rubber ring that was installed two different ways (both wrong) in both the cans I bought. It is not an o-ring as it first appears, but a c-channel ring that's supposed to be wrapped around the flange of the nozzle. I haven't actually tried it once more, but it looks like it would work.
However, this is still an awful product. The way you need to operate the nozzle is appallingly difficult and it's very hard not to overfill whatever you're trying to get gas into. What's worse is that when you stop filling your lawn mower, gas remains in the nozzle, trapped by the idiotically designed valve. If you have to unscrew the nozzle (don't worry, you will when you try to fix it) the thing spills gas all over your hands. You could spend $20 extra on a gas can, and you'd save enough in unspilled gas the first year to pay for it. Not to mention irritation.
----------------
I was curious if others had a bad experience too, so I googled and found this review. Yes, it leaks all over the place and it's almost impossible to get gas out of it into any machine you're trying to fill. It's awful. Spill-proof my a**.
Got mine at Fleet Farm.

Can's okay, but the cap isn't
By SonnyT2
The so called "spill-proof" cap on this can is a piece of crap. While the spout may not leak through the tip, whenever I tilt the can, it leaks throuth the screw threads, no matter how firmly I tighten it. Expensive nonsense.
