Makes a good paper weight
By Guy
I thought these were fantastic when I bought them, what a price. Now I have a different opinion.
One battery holder fell apart, the other on is still running, but the low battery indicator makes it useless.
It shuts off at will, Ok, When the batteries reach 20% capacity, a small red LED turns on in the translucent activation switch to let you know The batteries have had it. and then you cannot turn it back on once the flashing has started. And it will just sit there and flash for days.
I am using 3 Duracell Rechargeable 1000 mAh, fully charged and it starts flashing the red LED in minutes.
My Radio Shack battery tester says that all three are fully charged, and my analog volt meter says the battery pack is putting out 4 volts out of the 4.5 volts possible.
I put those same 3 batteries in another LED flashlight and it lights up fine.

Great, unless you need it to last more than an hour.
By YM
Pros:
- Bright
- Small
- Solid
Cons:
- Eats batteries
- Annoying to click through different settings
- Focus adjuster does nothing
- dim vs. bright pretty much the same brightness.
Got the 2 pack at Costco for a great price. Take it camping or fixing something in your crawl space and after about an hour it just shuts off. No worries, you can take the batteries out, put the same ones back in and you're good for another 15 minutes. Repeat process until you're done with the job or have gone crazy.
The red "low battery" will come on when it thinks the battery is low. When this happens you cannot use the flashlight. I left it with the red light on to see how long it would go... 3 weeks. Really? Enough battery to keep that red light on for 3 weeks, but it wont turn on.

Most Photons for the Buck

Ounce for ounce this is the best flashlight I've ever owned, especially at this price. It's simply astounding how much bright light these things put out. I'm buying two more today.
