it was clean cut

It was cut clean, and my bike is gone.
I live in NYC by the way. If you live here you need a either huge chain or kryptonite high end U locks.

all braided cables are no good in NYC no matter how thick they are. It was such an expensive lesson, i hope other bikers make a wise decision.

Do not buy

This cable is not 15mm steel. The total diameter which includes plastic coating is 15mm. The actual steel cable is only 1/4". Cut of the coating and see for your self. Trimax sucks. This is not a high security cable. You are better off buying 3/8" chain. Do not waste your money on TRIMAX products. They false avertise 15mm steel cable about this product.

Security Cables

I have the Trimax, Bike Guard, and Planet Bike dual loop 8' x 15mm cables. All three cables are identical except that the Trimax cable uses the finest wires in their cable making it the most flexible of the three. Planet bike uses medium thickness wire to make up their cable making it less flexible that the Trimax cable. Bike Guard uses the thickest wires to make up their cable which also makes it the least flexible of the three cables. The only other difference is the color of the small plastic covers at the base of each loop (Trimax is red, Planet Bike is grey and Bike Guard is black). The loops on all cables will pass through loops at the opposite end of the cable.
Excellent product and would recommend Trimax cables because of their excellent flexiblity.
